Child and Family Focus is committed to developing relationships with the local community members and groups that have the best interest of children, individuals and families at hand. We believe that in order to empower our consumers, we must support their involvement in their own community through the development of natural supports and eventual participation in service to others. Therefore, as we live and work within the community, we are privileged to be involved in the “Full Circle” of a lifetime of learning, spiritual growth, personal empowerment and collaborative support. In effort to promote awareness and accurate information, Child and Family Focus is committed to meeting the needs of local organizations and businesses by providing topic related conferences and training seminars. Our team is experienced in presenting curriculum to the county school systems, local churches, businesses, corporations and community groups. The following workshops are examples of recent trainings and workshops provided by our staff members.
Educational Programs“Working it”Vocational Evaluation - evaluation that combines computerized assessments and standardized tests to determine, enhance and support an individual in their career endeavors. “Living It”Life Skills 101 - This program is offered to adolescents and young adults who are in immediate need of realistic living skills necessary to survive successfully independent of parents and providers. This effective program is unique in that instruction is delivered in the, at the students home and in their community. Course instruction includes the following topics:
Family and Parenting Class“Baby Time”
Love and Logic is a 5 series course that extensively trains parents and educators on these proven effective behavioral techniques. A certificate, official workbook and online support is included with the weekly classroom instruction. Family Violence Intervention Programs Judges, prosecutors, probation, and victim advocates initiated the FVIP certification process to create consistency and accountability for those in need of intensive theraputic intervention targetting the elimination of domestic violence. This class is typically \ court ordered and is specific intensive treatment for violent or abusive individuals specifically targeting domestic violence, rather than more generic and often inappropriate and inadequate treatment for anger management. Certified FVIPs are required to implement safety features designed to enhance safety for victims of family violence. Safety features include:
