Mental Health Services

Child and Family Focus offers individual, family, and group counseling services to help consumer’s and their families. We are approved to prove Medicaid Speciality Services for Intensive Family Intervention as of June 1 , 2009. 

Five main components to our  mental health program are individual counseling, family therapy, case management, emergency crisis intervention, and support services.

* Individual counseling is designed to establish a recovery focused personal plan that realistically identifies objectives that can meet attainable goals.

* Family therapy involves working to define the family’s goals and the team and family can gain understanding, utilize strategies and interventions, and discover ways to meet the family’s needs. “Family” therapy can also include meeting with individual family members to meet these goals.

*Case Management means working with other service agencies involved with the consumer, in efforts to advocate  within these systems. It also includes connecting the consumer and families with additional resources and services to meet their needs.

* Community Support Services are available to help manage mental health illness and improve the quality of life for our consumers. Child and Family Focus offers help managing daily activities such as coordinating medical care, food planning, budgeting skills, and more. Assistance is provided to the consumer with the goal focused on fulfilling vocational or employment goals.Child and Family Focus assists individuals navigate through the process of learning how to effectively manage their mental health. Depending on treatment needs, medical services may be available including physician and nursing care, medication management, and pharmacy services. Some of theses types of services may include communication and collaboration with educational, vocational, legal and spiritual connections.

* Emergency crisis intervention is available through 24 hour/7 day emergency on-call to assist consumers and family members in managing crisis situations in ways to decrease dangerous situations. Support and stabilization services is part of the program that can include assisting financially in meeting specific needs of the family as well as funding additional or creative methods of working with the family.

The goal of counseling services are designed to promote and support independent and healthy living.
